Following your appointment at the visa application centre, your application is sent to one of our decision making centres where it will be assessed by one of our visa officers. They will assess each application on its own individual merits based on the information provided by the applicant.

Once your passport is ready for collection, you will receive an automated message, although you will not be informed of the outcome of the decision. You can either collect your passport at the visa application centre or, for a small fee, via courier.

Customers can check online to see the latest processing times： www.gov.uk/visa-processing-times. In 2015, we processed 99% of the applications we received within our target of 15 working days. However, customers who want a faster processing time can choose our 3-5 day priority visa service.

In year ending March 2016, 70,515 Chinese people were granted a Tier 4 study visa, while 13,193 were granted a short-term study visa. 95% of applicants were successful.

A range of other services are available at our visa application centres to make the process even more convenient. 签证申请中心还提供一系列其他服务使签证申请流程更便利。

1.A passport pass back service, for applicants who want to retain their passport, either to travel or to apply for a visa to another country, while their UK visa is being processed. 护照返还服务，适用于希望在英国签证申请审理期间保留护照用于旅行或申请其他国家签证的申请人。

2.A prime time service, for those who require an appointment outside of usual business hours. 黄金时间服务，向有需要的申请人提供非正常工作时间的预约。

In 2016, several new services have also been introduced.

1.Digital Assist, for those who need help in completing their online application on UKVI online application system. 表格助理，协助申请人填写英国签证及移民局在线签证申请表。

2.Get It Right, which allows you to check you have all the mandatory documents required by the UK’s immigration rules before your submit your application. VAC staff will not, however, check the content of the documents submitted. 确认基本文件服务，在您提交签证申请前检查英国签证及移民局要求的必交材料是否齐全。签证申请中心工作人员不会检查材料内容。

3.Walk-In, for customers who prefer not to book an appointment in advance. 免预约服务，适用于希望不提前预约的申请人。
